Beit Ticho

18 Jun

In the past I have had conversations with friends discussing the lack of “cultural experiences” one can have here in Israel. There is no question that there are plenty of Israeli cultural experiences to be had here. The issue is that we all come from all over the world where we all have our own notions as to what kind of cultural experiences we love and now miss.
Personally I miss the Broadway shows, the many choices of art museums to visit and the live jazz bands playing in small little venues all over NYC.

Last year I had the pleasure of hearing live jazz in the most gorgeous setting. Beit Ticho in Jerusalem (on Harav Kook Street right around the corner from Kikar Tzion) is absolutely breathtaking and romantic in the warmer weather evenings.
Tuesday nights they have an open wine/cheese night for around NS75 and a live jazz band plays.

Plus this week begins the Jazz Festival here in Jerusalem. All over the city there are booklets for the festival. I look forward to attending some of the shows.
