Shavuot is coming… time to harvest like we did back in the Old Days

14 May

Shavuot- the harvesting Jewish holiday is quickly approaching. and those of you still counting the Omer know exactly how many more days until Shavuot arrives.

This year I have decided to do something very different. I have decided to join Table to Table Sunday night to harvest food. I typically get ready for a holiday but cooking and inviting guests over but not necessarily connecting to details of the impending holiday.

So this year its going to be a first for me. A first time harvesting food and connecting to Shavuot in an entirely new way. Pictures to follow!!!

Below is the invite I received:

I want to invite you to an exciting Table to Table event.
On May 20-21,Table to Table will manage a 24-hour harvest session to
raise public awareness about the importance of using excess food to
help the hungry. The picking session will take place in Rechovot.

We are particulary in need of groups to pick between 00:00(May 21) –
06:00(May 21).pls.join us and have the memorable experience of
oicking late at night or early in the morning. The fields will be lit
up.Your help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions or want to schedule a group to glean
please contact Daniel via email at daniel( at ) tabletotable.org.il
