For the Overly Connected Never Disconnected Jews

18 Mar

I came across the NYTimes article titled ” And on the Sabbath, the iPhones Shall Rest”  and in it there is a disconnect experiment about to take place.    This Sabbath, from sundown Friday, March 19, to sundown Saturday, is going to be the First annual National Day of Unpluggin.

Along with unplugging, there are 10 principles that go along with the day. My personal favorite principals are :

1. Avoid Technology

2. Connect to loved ones

3.  Drink Wine

Read the rest of the principles  here

Its time for the constantly connected folks to disconnect for a Shabbat.

glad you enjoyed this post… if only everyone took the time to disconnect and re-connect to the people in front of them once a week.
