The “Survivor Synagogue” – Community Torah Dedication

26 May
Thursday June 2nd, you are invited to a unique Tel Aviv event: The “Survivor Synagogue” Community Torah Dedication

Survivor winner, Natan Bashevkin will be donating a new Torah to begin the revitalization of one of the oldest synagogues in central Tel Aviv.  This large bauhaus synagogue founded in the 1930’s is undergoing a renaissance as a young Jewish community center.  Our beautiful building and burgeoning community are literally survivors in the truest sense.  We are excited to be launching this new initiative with the help of synagogue member, Natan Bashevkin, and the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv, Rav Yisrael Lau.  The evening will start with a festive parade from the Devorah Hotel (87 Ben Yehuda corner with Gordon) to the synagogue located on 126 Ben Yehuda (corner with Ben Gurion) at 6pm, followed by speeches from Rav Lau and Natan Bashevkin, an acoustic musical performance by Aharon Razel at 7pm, and refreshments.

Many members of the press and entertainment media will be in attendance. For all media queries, please contact Avishay at

To kick off new membership to our community, we will be hosting a large young professional Shabbat dinner on Friday night, June 3rd.  The subsidized cost of the catered meal is 60nis and to RSVP, please contact Moshe  at

Come reserve your seats in our synagogue and community now.  They have been empty for way too long!
