I Love Voting!

11 Nov

I have only voted twice in my life up until the past week. In 2000 I voted in the USA Presidential race and in 2006 in the Israeli national elections.

Today was my first time ever voting for a mayor of a city. I currently reside in Tel Aviv but decided not to change my tehudat zehut (national ID card) until after elections so that I could vote in the Jerusalem mayor race. This was an important election for a variety of reason the main one being that I felt Jerusalem needed a new mayor who could help the city become more prosperous. In the past years Jerusalem has been in a steady decline.

So I voted.. and I hope my vote counts (unlike my absentee ballot for the presidential race in the States). It is time for change in Jerusalem.
